Interpreters can be provided to patients and their families who are non-English speaking or have a hearing impairment. If you would like an interpreter, please call the Language Services Office on (08) 6458 2802 before your appointment. This service is free to all Australian residents.

King Edward Memorial Hospital uses professional interpreters who are accredited through National Australian Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) and have a code of ethics ensuring confidentiality, impartiality and accuracy.

The use of family members, children, friends or other bilingual individuals who may offer to help the patient or family communicate in English is discouraged.
