Changes to patient visiting times during COVID-19

Visiting hours have changed. 

The new visiting hours at KEMH are one person from 11am to 12pm and one person from 6pm to 7pm.

Children under the age of 16 should not visit the hospital.

Exceptional circumstances can be discussed with your healthcare team.

Please note the KEMH Crèche has closed.

Amended visiting hours

Labour and Birth Suite – one birthing partner is permitted to attend with a woman in labour.  That same birthing partner can progress to the postnatal ward for one hour.

Inpatients on the wards –  A maximum of 2 visitors per patient, per day. One person for 1 hour in the morning (11am-12pm) and one person for 1 hour in the evening (6pm-7pm).

Outpatients – For those visiting our hospital for an out-patient appointment, a maximum of 1 adult person may accompany them.

There will be new COVID-19 screening measures in place for every person entering King Edward Memorial Hospital from Monday 23 March 2020. 

Every person entering the main entrance of our hospital will be asked by a member of staff:

  • If they have been overseas in the last 14 days;
  • If they have fever or acute respiratory symptoms;
  • If they have come into close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Visitors can only enter the hospital via the Bagot Road main entrance; entry is no longer available via Hensman Road.
