Graduates
King Edward Memorial Hospital offers the largest Graduate Midwife Program in WA to facilitate the transition of beginning level practitioners into the workforce. The hospital also participates in the Graduate Nurse Program offering placements in neonatal, gynaecological and perioperative nursing in partnership with Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Graduate Mental Health Nurse Program
The hospital offers a 54-week Graduate Mental Health Nurse Program run in conjunction with Edith Cowan University (ECU). Graduates will enrol into the Master of Clinical Nursing course via ECU but may exit the course with a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Mental Health). The course includes rotating to WA Country Health Services (WACHS) for a six-month rural and remote placement. Programs start in January and July each year.
