Neonatal Intensive Care

Two midwives in NICUIn Australia, overseas visitors, overseas students and patients who are not eligible for Medicare under their current VISA arrangements are required to pay for the cost of their health care. As part of the Child and Adolescent Health Service, Neonatology comprises neonatal units located at both King Edward Memorial Hospital and at Perth Children's Hospital (PCH), Ward 3B.

The neonatal unit at KEMH has 100 beds for predominantly inborn preterm or sick babies. Out-born babies and those requiring surgery are admitted to the 30 bed neonatal unit at PCH.
