There are numerous inpatient mental health services across our various hospitals and services.

Inpatient and Other Services

In case of a mental health emergency:

  • For immediate assistance with life threatening situations call 000
  • Mental Health Emergency Response Line:
    • Metro residents (local call) – 1300 555 788
    • Peel residents (free call) – 1800 676 822

The 24-hour, seven day a week Mental Health Emergency Response Line has professionals who can provide advice about mental health problems and, if needed, assist with access to mental health care.

Specialist Inpatient and Other Services

  • Bidi Wungen Kaat Centre A caring and innovative approach to help mental health consumers step back into the community.
  • Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team CRHTT will provide an innovative response to acute mental health care through safe and high quality hospital-level care in their own home.
  • East Metropolitan Youth Unit (EMyU) The East Metropolitan Youth Unit provides mental health inpatient care for young people aged 16 to 24 presenting with complex and acute mental health issues.
  • Hospital Inpatient Services Our hospitals offer a range of inpatient mental health services.
  • Mental Health Emergency Response Line The Mental Health Emergency Response Line provides support during a mental health crisis
  • Rurallink Rurallink provides support to people in rural communities during a mental health crisis.
  • Support Services There are a range of community services to provide advice about your mental health and assist with access to mental health care.
