    Professor Mary Steen recognised with OBE in Kings Birthday Honours 17 June 2025 Congratulations to Professor Mary Steen, Professor of Midwifery at Women and Newborn Health Service’s Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research, who was recently appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List. Mary was recognised for her outstanding services to midwifery, maternal and familial health research. She has a joint appointment with Curtin University as Professor of Midwifery and Discipline Lead in the School of Nursing.     Congratulations Leanda Verrier 29 November 2023 Congratulations to Leanda Verrier who was awarded the Mental Health Employee or Volunteer Excellence Award at the 2023 WA Mental Health Awards. The WA Mental Health Awards showcase the dedication and contribution of individuals and teams who work to promote positive mental health. The Mental Health Employee or Volunteer Excellence Award recognises an outstanding contribution to mental health in WA by an individual employed or volunteering within WA's mental health sector. Leanda is the Statewide Coordinator of the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health program at KEMH. Leanda's contributions, dedication, leadership, and advocacy for recovery-oriented care have left a positive impact on mental health services in Western Australia. Leanda was presented with her award at the Celebration Ceremony on Thursday, 23 November at Hyatt Regency, Perth.

    Congratulations Professor Yee Leung 27 November 2023 Congratulations to Professor Yee Leung who was recently awarded The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) President's Medal. Professor Leung was recognised for his exceptional dedication to the work of the College over many years. In particular, Yee's extensive work on committees including the Council and Board, and as a College Examiner and Training Supervisor as well as his extraordinary commitment to the subspecialty of Gynaecology Oncology. The President's Medal is awarded to RANZCOG members who, in the President's opinion, have made an outstanding contribution to the work of the College. Professor Leung was awarded the President's Medal by the President at the New Fellows and Awards Presentation Ceremony as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Congratulations Yee, what an amazing achievement.

    Congratulations Dr Scott White 27 November 2023 Congratulations to Dr Scott White who was recently awarded The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Distinguished Service Medal. Dr Scott White was awarded for the remarkable contribution and impact he has made to the College over many years through his work on numerous committees, working groups and advisory groups, as well as his role as a Councillor. Moreover, Scott's commitment to teaching and supporting junior doctors including as a member of the 'Supportive Seniors' group offering additional support for trainees facing challenges. A Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to members of the College who have made a distinguished and sustained contribution to the work of the College. Dr Scott White was awarded the medal at the New Fellows and Awards Presentation Ceremony as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting. Congratulations Scott.

    Congratulations Dr Emma Allanson 24 November 2023 Congratulations to Dr Emma Allanson who recently won two international awards in her line of work. Emma was awarded the Early Career Investigator Award for the Gynaecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG) Endometrial Cancer Consensus Conference - Clinical Research (ECCC-CR). The process was internationally competitive and awarded to four early career researchers in gynaecologic oncology in the world. During the nomination process, the ECCC-CR executive remarked the number of very strong applications from a range of specialties. Emma was given the opportunity to participate in the consensus conference earlier this month in Seoul, and contributed to the development of guidelines on the conduct of endometrial cancer trials.
