Study examining secondary trauma in WA health care workers
This study aims to investigate symptoms of secondary trauma experienced by health care workers, and the use of protective, self-care strategies.
Employees in healthcare helping roles such as social work, midwifery, nursing, allied health, and medical professions are invited to participate.
Participants must:
- be over the age of 18 years
- be employed as a health care professional in Western Australia
- have regular direct contact with clients/patients who present with trauma or a history of trauma, hardship and struggle as a part of their usual job role.
This study has ethics approval from the WA Central Human Research Ethics Committee (RGS0000006951).
