At King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) our staff are provided with the opportunity to utilise some of the newest medical technologies available, while working in an innovative and stimulating environment.
As Western Australia’s tertiary women’s and newborns hospital, we deliver specialist health services of the highest international standard in a friendly and supportive setting.
We offer a comprehensive range of obstetric, gynaecological/gynae-oncological and neonatal clinical services and provide excellent educational and skill development opportunities for doctors of all levels (excluding interns).
A wide range of placements are available for resident medical officers, Doctor-In-Training (DiT) wishing to gain experience in and or specialise in O&G and or Neonates.

Resident medical officers (RMO)
RMO application dates for the 2019 clinical year (14 January 2019 to12 January 2020) are:

RMO positions are available to medical practitioners who have completed their internship or overseas equivalent and are eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as per the professional registration requirements outlined below.
The positions available at KEMH and our rotational locations include, but are not limited to:
- Site: Clinics, Emergency, Labour Ward, Leave Relief, Neonates, Oncology, Psychological Medicine, Team based ward jobs specialising in gynae or obstetrics.
- Peripheral: Albany, Bunbury, Fiona Stanley, Joondalup, Kalgoorlie, OPH, Rockingham
Limited part-time positions may be available through KEMH. Please note that these are dependent on the service delivery requirements of each specialty and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. They may or may not include shift work, on-call, weekend, after-hours duties and leave relief.

Registrars – Applying for training
Each year applications are invited from suitably qualified medical graduates for entry to the specialist training program. Application dates and times for 2018 year are detailed below.
Please be advised that applicants must apply to both the college and the Health Service. The Health Service advert for this will be on MedJobsWA (external site) and College applications will be taken on the RANZCOG website.

Rotations can be on site at KEMH but can include rotations at various metropolitan, outer metropolitan and regional/rural hospitals in Western Australia.
Registrar positions are available to Medical Practitioners with appropriate qualifications and experience and are eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as per Professional registration requirements.
Advanced Training positions may require an application to be submitted to the relevant college in addition to the application to the hospital. Please ensure you have checked the relevant college application requirements and closing dates.
Many registrar applications are coordinated at a single health service, but fulfil recruitment requirements for other hospitals. Please check the adverts to see which hospitals successful applicants may be appointed to.
