Maternal Fetal Medicine Team at WNHS

Role of service

The Maternal Fetal Medicine team at WNHS provides care for complex high risk pregnancies, including maternal and fetal disorders / disease for pregnancies from across Western Australia requiring tertiary care.

 

Clinical Inclusion

  • High risk pregnancy
  • Identified maternal / fetal disorder / disease

 

Clinical Exclusion

Pregnancies not requiring tertiary level care – please refer to local maternity service provider.

 

Required referral information

  • Details of medical and pregnancy related risk factors to enable appropriate triage.
  • Detailed past obstetric history.
  • Copies of investigations and letters relating to pregnancy and identified medical issues.

 

Urgent Referral

Urgent Maternal Fetal Medicine referrals are to be discussed with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow, Senior Registrar, or Consultant via WNHS at KEMH switchboard (08) 6458 2222.

 

Referral Process

Complete the KEMH Antenatal referral Form (PDF), or own software template including detailed information.

Attach required information for MFM Referral.
